Oregon - family leave act

The Oregon Family Leave Act’s qualification standards are more lenient than those in the federal FMLA. Under the Oregon law, employees with as few as 25 employees are responsible for providing medical leave. Also, an employee need work only 180 days to receive the protections of the Oregon Family Leave Act.

Like the federal law, it is illegal to interfere with an employee’s right to leave. It is also illegal to retaliate against an employee for taking or requesting leave. In Oregon, it is illegal to retaliate against an individual for requesting medical leave, even if that individual is not otherwise entitled to such leave.
